Update on Merger

I mentioned before that we've been wondering what effect the merger of Chicago North and Chicago South will have on Elder M's return date. He was scheduled to come home on August 6, but since missionaries come home on transfer dates, we were wondering what the new transfer dates would be after July 1 when the missions merge. Ed called the mission office because we're just too curious to wait I guess (he actually wanted to plan some summer activities with the Priests in our ward and didn't want a conflict), and learned that the combined mission will move to the Chicago North transfer schedule, and Elder M will likely come home on Aug. 19. That could change, but that's the plan. So now we know! That will give him one week to get home and up to BYU, so it'll be a busy week! With Caitlin starting school around the same time, it could be very interesting! We'll keep you all posted when we really get the official word 2-3 months before he comes home.
